May 2025 Event Update

Dear Collective Member,

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our latest Plymouth Mental Health Collective event on Wednesday 28th May at the Devonport Guildhall.

Whether you came from a grassroots project, a statutory service, or simply brought your passion for better mental health support, you made the day what it was.

On the day we explored…

🧠 What We’re About
We kicked off by sharing the heart of PMHC: creating a space where collaboration is the norm, not the exception. We're about breaking down silos, building trust, and connecting people across every part of the mental health system – from peer-led projects to strategic decision-makers.

💬 Trauma Informed Plymouth Network
Together, we reflected on the values that guide us and the real-world experiences of holding those values under pressure. Thank you to everyone who contributed—your honesty and insight set the tone for the rest of the day. See more in resources.

🤝 Speed Networking
The room was buzzing with energy as we explored connections and discovered new ways to support mental health and wellbeing together. So many of you said this was a highlight – we’ll definitely be bringing it back!

💡 Spotlights:

  • Citizens Advice Plymouth shared how they’re supporting people navigating Universal Credit for the first time – such a vital lifeline.

  • Team Around Me reminded us of the power of joined-up support. See resources

  • Open Mic gave space to voices in the room & a chance to share news, updates & offers—thank you for your stories, questions, and courage.

🥗 Networking Lunch
Over food and continued conversation, ideas flowed. We hope you made new connections that will carry on beyond the room.

Thankyou to the Devon Mental Health Alliance for funding the PMHC events
